Three Men in a Boat is a 1956 British CinemaScope colour comedy film directed by Ken Annakin and starring Laurence Harvey, Jimmy Edwards, Shirley Eaton and David Thomlinson.[1] It is based on the 1889 novel Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome. The film received mixed reviews, but was a commercial success.
Set in the Edwardian era, three friends, George, Harris and J decide to escape from their respective woman troubles in London by embarking on a relaxing trip on a boat down the River Thames taking with them their dog Montmorency. They enjoy a number of adventures as they follow the river westwards, and become involved with three wealthy young ladies they meet on the way.
